Do residents have to subscribe to a plan in order to use GateSmart ?
No, only the society in which the resident resides in must subscribe to one of our plans. Once a society has subscribed, all a resident has to do is download the app from the Play Store or App Store and sign up using their mobile number.

How can I get GateSmart in my society?

How quickly can I get GateSmart installed?
GateSmart can be onboarded and deployed in your society within 3-5 days after your society management team officially signs up with us.
During installation we provide complete training of residents, guards and management to ensure a seamless transition to your services. We also provide an end-to-end set up of all backend resources such as creation of digital profiles for staff and security, complete set up of the society ERP panel and registration of all residents.
How easy is it for residents/security guards to adopt to GateSmart?

Where can I get the app?
The app is available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. But to be able to utilize our features and get a holistic experience of our application, your society has to be registered on our platform.

How do I register on the app?
You will require an email address and a mobile number to sign up on the app after downloading it. Your society admin can also create an account for you.
How do I register to a flat in my society?
- Select the city that your society is located in.
- Search for your society by name and select it.
- Select the building or block your flat is in.
- Select your flat number/name .
- Select your resident and occupancy status .
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Once you have added your flat, your society admin must accept your request before you have access to that flat.
How do I select my resident and occupancy status?
- Select your resident status as ‘Home Owner’ and occupancy status as ‘Residing’ if you are the owner of the flat and are currently residing in it.
- Select your resident status as ‘Home Owner’ and occupancy status as ‘Not Residing’ if you are the owner of the flat and are not currently residing in it.
- Select your resident status as ‘Renting’ if you are currently residing in a rented flat.
What can I do when my flat request is pending admin approval?
You can contact your society admin by clicking on the ‘Contact Admin’ button to enquire into your request.
How do I register a new staff member who has joined my household?
Each time you hire a staff member, all you have to do is them to a designated security guard to get registered. We train security guards to seamlessly register staff members in a few minutes. After a staff has been registered by the guard to your unit, you will be able to view and manage your staff from the Household page of the GateSmart Resident App.
What happens when the staff is no longer employed by my household?
- Select the city that your society is located in.
- Search for your society by name and select it.
- Select the building or block your flat is in.
- Select your flat number/name .
- Select your resident and occupancy status .
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Once you have added your flat, your society admin must accept your request before you have access to that flat.
How do I select my resident and occupancy status?
- Select your resident status as ‘Home Owner’ and occupancy status as ‘Residing’ if you are the owner of the flat and are currently residing in it.
- Select your resident status as ‘Home Owner’ and occupancy status as ‘Not Residing’ if you are the owner of the flat and are not currently residing in it.
- Select your resident status as ‘Renting’ if you are currently residing in a rented flat.
What can I do when my flat request is pending admin approval?
You can contact your society admin by clicking on the ‘Contact Admin’ button to enquire into your request.
How can I approve/deny visitors waiting at my gate?
If a visitor has not already been pre-approved by you, the guard will collect their details and send an approval request to your resident GateSmart application. You can approve or deny the guest from there after reviewing their info. In the case that you miss the notification or do not have internet connectivity, the guard will trigger an IVR call to your registered primary number (see Mobile Intercom FAQ). You can accept or deny the entry request by responding to the IVR call.
What do you mean by pre-approving visitors?
We want your visitors to enter your society as smoothly as possible without any wait time at the gate. You can pre-approve visitors by adding them to the ‘Household’ page of your unit in the resident app. A visitor who has been pre-approved in advance will not require any further approval when they reach your society gate. You can pre-approve guests, e-commerce companies (eg: Amazon, Swiggy, BlueDart etc) , Vehicles and External Services ( plumbers, tutors, beauticians etc).
Does the guard stop every visitor who enters the society?
Yes, it is our protocol for the guard to collect details from each person who is entering the society to ensure foolproof security.
What if I do not want my guests to wait at the gate?
You can pre-approve your guest from the ‘Household’ page of your resident app. This will generate a 6 digit invitation code which you will share with your guest. While entering the society, all your guest has to do is provide the code to the society guard and they will be allowed entry without any further approval requests.
What if I am not home when someone comes?
If you aren’t home, you will still get a notification on your app. The guards can always inform the visitor if their request to enter the premises has been accepted or declined.
What happens if I raise an emergency alarm?
Incase of an emergency like a fire, you can raise an alarm from your resident app with a brief description of your emergency. This will send an emergency alert to your society guard who will follow your society's protocol for emergency response.
What is GateSmart’s multi-property management feature?
GateSmart is a one-stop-shop for all your apartments. We let you manage multiple properties all from a single account. Toggle from one unit to the other and get updates on each apartment in real time.
What if I have multiple flats in the same society?
Even if you have multiple units in the same society, the GateSmart app allows you to manage each unit separately from a single account. You can register different staff, add a different set of flatmates, control notification settings, book amenities, pay maintenance dues etc individually for each unit.
